April 6 State of alaska covid-19 Update

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS @ Providence

Dr. Linda Smith is acting Medical Director at Providence Medical Towers. This medical building, also on the Providence campus, offers subspecialty care. The main hospital has limited entry and their staff are performing COVID-19 screening. Dr. Smith is coordinating this effort at the medical office buildings off Piper Street.

Dr. Smith is in need of PA’s to perform the secondary screening process. Patients who screen positive need to undergo further medical screening to differentiate between suspected COVID-19 virus and those who have underling medical conditions. These patients would more appropriately managed by their specialty providers inside the building. An example might be fever in a cancer patient with chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. This secondary screen is more sophisticated and requires advanced medical training.

This is volunteer position. You will be garbed in full PPE. You should be covered by Good Samaritan Laws. The hours are M-F: 0600-1900, Sat: 0900-1600, and Sun closed.

The point of contact is: Ali Toman: (907) 201-0366.
