The Alaska Academy of Physician Assistants is modeled after the AAPA and has a Board of Directors consisting of President, President-Elect, Past-President, Secretary/Treasurer, 3 Members at Large and 3 Delegates.

The President shall preside at all business meetings of the organization and of the Board of Directors. At the annual meeting he/she shall make a report of the year’s activities. S/he shall appoint all committees and shall designate a Chairman subject to the approval of the Board. The President is the liaison for the newsletter, the primary contact with contracted management and communications with other organizations.
The President-Elect succeeds to the presidency at the conclusion of the first elected year. The President-Elect shall assume the duties of the President in his/her absence or upon resignation or removal. The President- Elect is board liaison to the membership committee and organizes and conducts the annual elections.
The Secretary/Treasurer will be responsible for all meeting minutes, communications, and notify all members of all meetings. The Secretary/Treasurer shall maintain accurate records of the financial status of the organization, collect yearly dues, deposit into the organization’s account and pay all bills approved by the organization and record all receipts of those payments.
The Directors at Large are liaisons to the scholarship committee and continuing medical education committee.
The Student Directors shall serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and student members and encourage student participation and membership in the organization.
All members of the board are required to attend all Board of Director meetings. Board members may be excused for up to two meetings each year. Any member or the Board may be removed by majority vote of the board for reasons of absence or dereliction.
